This Year's Ranking: 13
Mark Stuart, 29, D, 6'2, 213 lbs
Last Year's Ranking: 12
This Year's Ranking: 12
Both alternate captains come in at 13th and 12th on this year's list and one remains at the same ranking as last year while the other has dropped off.
Mark Stuart had a solid shortened 2012-13 with four points and a plus five rating with 53 penalty minutes for the Jets.
His constant leadership and shot blocking ability has been a part of the Jets lineup that does go unheralded as the time the Jets have spent in Winnipeg has gone on.
But when Stuart's presence is not in the lineup, it shows.
For Olli Jokinen, his debut season with the Jets did not go according to plan.
The 34-year old veteran only netted 17 points in 45 games as his role was the second line centre role to help out Evander Kane and his goal scoring development.
This year his role may be in question as Mark Scheifele's development finally comes around.
If that is the case, Jokinen will be the Jets third line option and that in all respects is a good deal for the Jets – a former 80-90 point scorer (albeit in Florida years ago) as your third line centre.
This year, both have roles in leadership and how to get this team to the next step: the playoffs.
